It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you

Debra and I got up early ate a quick breakfast and headed to Hawksnest Beach for our last beach day. Chris, Rick and Jason were coming later so this was our last chance to spend a beach day together with the entire band. We wasted no time and got our snorkel gear on as soon as we planted on the beach. We saw even more marine life than yesterday. We watched a Caribbean Squid for a long time. We had never seen one and were mesmerized.

And then I said to her…. act natural

Chris, Jason and Rick joined us just as we were coming out of the water. They had found a perfectly shaded section of the beach. We spent the next hour snorkeling, floating, laughing and enjoying everything that this trip had become.

It had quickly become our 5th and last night at the World Famous Beach Bar. One last performance. One last toast to this latest chapter in the Jaguar story. It started off with a BANG! KC - one of our favorite bartenders at the Beach Bar got up and sang Africa by Toto with Jaguar. HE CRUSHED IT! I didn’t know he could sing that well. We had to follow that. DANG IT! The pressure was on.

KC sings Africa with Jaguar. The man can bring it!

We opened our set with A Little Bit More, one of our originals. It is an emotional ballad and we thought it was appropriate to play it on our last night. The night was full of surprises. It was the best crowd response we have had since our reunion started in 2019. It brought back many great memories of Jaguar playing at World Headquarters (now Morgan’s Mango) in 1989. Somehow Jaguar had finally come full circle.

There was a huge Conga line that went to the beach and back. We also had a spectacular limbo contest that was crazy fun. People were singing and dancing and laughing. It was an amazing time for us to bring everything to a grande finale. We can hope it was a highlight of someone’s vacation like it was ours.

Jaguar…. lowering the bar since 1989!

We all knew it was coming. The last song on our last night. I am proud of Jaguar. This night will be a big part of the never ending Jaguar story. Somehow we saved the best for last.

For 5 nights we gave everything we had. We gave performances that we felt the Beach Bar customers and staff deserved. When we arrived and I saw Reed for the first time in 2 1/2 years, I thanked him for having us back and told him we would make him proud….

I hope we did that.
We can’t wait to do it again.

Good Night Beach Bar! Good Night St. John!

Until next time St. John….
