Day 3

Jaguar makes the newspaper!

An email appeared 1st thing this morning from Andrea Milam telling us her Jaguar article was published in today’s Virgin Island News paper. The front page says Band back in VI 30 years after tour. How crazy is that?

We were fortunate to have an article published about the band when were here last time and it’s unbelievable that it happened again. Seriously, all the people we have met have been incredibly gracious.

After breakfast we headed out to the world famous Megan’s Bay. Sunshine…80 degrees…white sandy beach…Caribbean blue water….. It honestly does not get better than this!

Megan’s Bay

After quick showers we took the ferry over to St. John. We walked through Cruz Bay to Morgan’s Mango. The sights and sounds certainly brought back many happy memories. Morgan’s Mango stands where World Headquarters once stood. We wanted to have a very special dinner in the exact spot we played our first song on our first night exactly 30 years years ago. We had a table reserved were the stage once stood. It was incredible. The evening’s entertainment was a solo guitarist named Mark Wallace. He played in a band called Otis and the Elevators at World Headquarters at the same time Jaguar did. We had many stories and laughs to share. Mark has been on the island since 1984 and has been playing at Morgan’s Mango since 1992.

Jaguar returns to Morgan’s Mango

Before dinner Andrea Millam stopped by to say hello and meet Jaguar in person. Lots of hugs and many thank yous. Just another demonstration of graciousness by the locals. We had a long celebration toast and a great dinner. Maria and her staff were very accommodating and went out of their way to make the evening special. This is why we came. To be in this exact place exactly 30 years later to the day… to the minute. It honestly could not have been more perfect.

A toast 30 years in the making
