Day 6

Jaguar decided it was time to return to where we lived 30 years ago. 11-1C St. Peter Mountain Road. We had rented a 2 bedroom apartment from Ivory Cummings on the north side of the island. She was a local legend. The accommodations were somewhat primitive but the view of Megan’s Bay was breathtaking. Based on our research, we determined the apartments did not survive the last hurricane. We thought we could find where they once stood and take a few pictures. As we drove up the mountain we all thought we passed the spot. I continued to drive until I found a spot to pull over to make a u-turn. As I pulled over someone shouted from the back of the van “this is it!” We all hopped out see the to the apartment building we thought no longer existed. The view was exactly how we remembered it.

After lots of stories and photos we headed up to Mountain Top for some souvenir shopping and a few world famous banana daiquiris. Who knew shopping could be so much fun?

We then headed to Drake’s Seat for a the obligatory tourist photos. And then to Sapphire Beach. We heard some of the loudest laughs of our vacation on the ride down the mountain. Sunday afternoon banana daiquiris made everyone very happy. We also got to stop and wait for an iguana to cross the road. Not something you see where we are from.

Sapphire Beach

We made to Sapphire Beach and the Blood Moon party was in full swing. The beach… the bar….the band…. the sunshine…. the food…..the dancing… It was perfect. Mike and Chris got to sit in with the band for a couple of songs. Nice! It was a full day of happiness that we will all remember forever.
